English Library Club Tourrettes-sur-Loup: Philosophy

The thinking or philosophy behind the English Library Club in Tourrettes-sur-Loup is this…
English Library Club Tourrettes-sur-Loup

When I arrived almost 5 years ago in Tourrettes-sur-Loup I knew I had found ‘home’. Somewhere at last to leave my library. With approximately a 1000 books collected since childhood I also wanted to share my treasures. Since then the library has grown (nearer 1500 books now) and our book group, originally 5 members, Me, Susan, Monique, Kerstin and Alain, (looking a little serious?) now boasts 23.

However, the important point I want to make clear is this.

The English Library Club is not about a mad (some say) middle aged (cough) English woman wanting people to read and speak English. Nope. It is for everyone  with a love of books, who likes to read and converse in English.

And to give you an idea of what I mean by everyone here is representation of our members.

Also (coming soon) is a kid’s book club and story time for children on Saturday mornings. Venue and times to be confirmed. My reasoning for this is simple. Start learning a second language as young as possible to make it as painless as possible and don’t find yourself in my predicament…still struggling with French at retirement age!

Happy reading everyone!
